Inspiration and basic rules of the game

The game is inspired by the stone figurines of Adamić's Witnesses displayed in the park of the Governor's Palace. The rules are largely based on the well-known board game Čovječe, ne ljuti se (Ludo), with a few changes and additions.

The game can be played by 2 to 4 players, each with three pieces – Adamić's Witnesses – of different colours. The playing field has four sides with eight fields each, similar to Čovječe, ne ljuti se.

The black piece (13th)

There is also a black piece, the thirteenth, which at the start of the game is given to the player who rolled the lowest value on the die. The player who holds the black piece (13th) tries to pass it on to another player as soon as possible, because they cannot win the game with it.

Ways of passing on the black piece

The black piece can be passed on in the following ways:

a) If a player with the black piece lands on one of the four prisons on the board, which are located on the fourth field from the starting field of each colour. The player then has the right to roll the die three times, trying to get a 6. If successful, they choose which opponent receives the black piece.

b) If a player with the black piece completes a full circuit of the board (they may play with the black piece instead of their own colour). The black piece is then passed to the next player in the clockwise direction.

c) If the black piece “eats” another player's piece, that other player takes over the black piece. The game continues with the next player in order, unless the player rolled a 6 – then they roll again, according to the usual rules.

When the black piece is passed on to another player, it always starts from the black field outside the main board (the so-called “pile of gold”).

Rules for rolling the die

A piece comes out only by rolling a 6, and after every roll of a six the player has one more try. The game is started by the player who rolled the highest number at the beginning. A player who has no possible piece to move on their turn has the right to roll the die three times – until they get a 6 (as at the start of the game).

Movement and behaviour of the pieces

Adamić's Witnesses (pieces) may jump over both opponents' and their own pieces. After rolling a 6, the player may bring a new piece onto the start (if the field is free) or continue moving the existing pieces on the board. Only after making a move with the six does the player have the right to roll the die again.
